The House of Opportunity Foundation will award a one-time college scholarship to California rising high school seniors who are headed to college in pursuit of their dreams!

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 

  • Open to graduating high school seniors

  • Must plan to attend a 2-year institution including vocational/trade (CTE) or 4-year college/university

  • Minimum GPA: 2.0

  • Residency Status: Not Required 

Scholarship Timeline

  1. Application opens January 15th

  2. Application closes on March 15th

  3. Scholarship notifications are released in April

  4. Awards are released mid-summer

Application Overview

The application consists of 5 parts:

  1. General Information

  2. College/University Application Information

  3. Financial Aid Application Information

  4. Three brief short answer questions:

    • Who/what inspires you to pursue a college degree and why? (500 words)

    • Think about an obstacle or challenge you had to overcome, what was that challenge/obstacle? How did you overcome it? (500 words)

    • What is your favorite piece of media (i.e. music, tv show, movie, podcast) to consume and why? (250 words)

  5. Volunteer/Work/Hobbies Information
